SEO Packages & Pricing Explained: What You Get at Each Price (2026)
By Diaz Xavier, Founder, Sevenoways
Quick answer: Irish SEO packages generally fall into three tiers: entry-level local SEO from around €350–€400/month (Google Business Profile and on-page basics), mid-range SEO from €600–€900/month (ongoing content and technical work for steady growth), and competitive/national SEO from €1,000+/month (multiple content pieces, link building and deeper technical work). The right package depends on how much competition you're up against, not on which tier "sounds" right — a busy Dublin niche needs more monthly hours than a single-county trade business.
Why SEO is sold as a package rather than a fixed job
SEO isn't a one-off task like building a website — it's ongoing work: content, technical fixes, local optimisation and monitoring, month after month. Because the amount of competition varies wildly by industry and location, agencies package that work into tiers rather than quoting one flat number. A takeaway in Sligo and a solicitor competing across Dublin are both buying "SEO," but the second needs far more monthly hours to make progress. Packages exist to match the spend to the size of the job, not just to add another price to compare.
The three package levels, explained
Entry-level: local SEO foundations (roughly €350–€450/month)
This tier suits a business competing in one town or county with a handful of direct competitors. At this price, expect:
- Google Business Profile setup and ongoing optimisation
- On-page fixes to your existing site (titles, headings, page speed basics)
- Local citation and directory consistency
- A monthly plain-English report on rankings and enquiries
What's usually not included at this level: new content written every month, or work aimed at national keywords. That's fine — for a lot of local trades and services, this is genuinely enough to compete in the map pack. See our guide to getting into the Google map pack for what that foundation-level work actually involves.
Mid-range: ongoing growth SEO (roughly €600–€900/month)
This is where most growing Irish businesses land. On top of everything in the entry tier, you should see:
- One or more pieces of original content published monthly (blog posts, service pages)
- Deeper technical SEO — site structure, internal linking, Core Web Vitals
- Keyword expansion beyond the obvious "near me" terms
- Quarterly strategy reviews, not just monthly reporting
This tier makes sense once you're past the "get found locally" stage and are trying to win a bigger share of a more competitive market, or expand into a second town or region.
Competitive/national: full SEO programme (€1,000+/month)
Reserved for genuinely competitive industries — insurance, finance, national e-commerce, or any keyword with dozens of established competitors already on page one. At this level, expect multiple content pieces a month, a proactive link-building or digital-PR component, and closer technical monitoring. If a package at this price doesn't include a clear content and link plan, ask what exactly the extra spend is buying.
Comparison: what's typically included at each level

Our own SEO service is structured this way — plans start from €349/month, with the exact tier and price fixed in writing after we've looked at your specific competition, not quoted blind off a price list.
Red flags at any price point
- A package that guarantees specific rankings — no legitimate agency can promise this, and Google says so itself
- A "full SEO" package priced under roughly €200/month — the maths of skilled monthly work doesn't support it
- No clarity on what's actually delivered each month, just vague language like "ongoing optimisation"
- A long lock-in contract for what should be a rolling monthly service
Do you need a package at all?
If you're a genuinely local business with light competition — say, one of two plumbers in a small town — a full monthly package may be more than you need. A one-off technical and Google Business Profile clean-up, revisited every six months or so, can be enough. Packages earn their monthly cost when there's real, ongoing competition to keep up with; if there isn't, don't let anyone talk you into paying for hours the market doesn't require.
How to choose the right tier
Rather than picking a tier by price alone, start from your competition: search your main keywords yourself and count how many established local competitors already rank on page one. Two or three loosely-optimised competitors usually means entry-level is enough. A page full of well-established national brands means you're looking at the competitive tier, and it's worth knowing that going in rather than being surprised six months into an under-powered entry package.
